Functions of the Radiation Committee

  1. Identify infrastructure needs (including financial and training requirements) so that the control and regulation of atomic energy can be implemented effectively.
  2. Ensuring compliance with the Radiation Protection Program adopted is in line with AELB's instructions and requirements.
  3. Ensure safety and security aspects are assessed for effectiveness before being implemented on facilities and radioactive materials.
  4. Ensuring the Security Plan and Threat Assessment meet security and safety requirements at the facility before being submitted to AELB for approval.
  5. Giving advice to license holders regarding safety, security and regulatory aspects of radiation equipment.
  6. Implement safety culture and security culture to all radiation workers.
