The roles and responsibilities of the Certified Mechanical Manager based on the Regulations (Notification, Qualification and Inspection) of Factories and Machinery, Factories and Machinery Act 1967 are as follows:
- The Certified Mechanical Manager must inform the COSHE officer to renew the CF no later than two (2) months before the CF expires.
- Certified Mechanical Managers must ensure that the maintenance of certified machines/machinery is carried out by competent contractors registered with JKKP.
- Certified Mechanical Managers must prepare a certified machine/machinery maintenance record book and must be certified by a competent OYK.
- The Certified Mechanical Manager must accompany the JKKP and COSHE officers when performing repeated inspections on the machines/machinery involved. Competent contractors must be present during the inspection.
- The Certified Mechanical Manager shall keep a copy of the CF and the original copy shall be displayed near the machine/machinery. (CF downloaded from MyKKP system).
- The Certified Mechanical Manager must notify COSHE in writing for the application for postponement of machine/machinery re-inspection no later than three (3) months before CF ends.
- The Certified Mechanical Manager must ensure that the postponement application is consistent with the time period that has been set in this procedure.
- The Certified Mechanical Manager must ensure that the machine/machinery is maintained and in good condition and safe to operate.
- The Certified Mechanical Manager must ensure that all supporting documents required when making a deferment application are complete and easy to read.
- The Certified Mechanical Manager must ensure that notices prohibiting the use / stoppage of operation are posted on the machines/machinery involved.
